poor heat output from 1MZFE V6, change thermostat?

I'm not getting very much heat from my 2002 Solara with the 1MZFE V6. I have a remote car starter, and I let it run 10-15 minutes before I get in it, and I can drive to work and still not get that much heat. It was like that last winter too, but I was too lazy to look into it. It's been really cold here in the Northeast lately, and I'd like to fix this.....Think it could be a thermostat that's not closing all the way? Where is the thermostat located on the 1MZFE V6?, They're usually simple to change....Thanks for any help on this...

Yeah, I get heat after the car has been driven maybe 9-10 miles. But it takes so long, it seems like I'm waiting for the whole amount of coolant to warm up instead of the small quantity that circulates between the block and the heater core...
