It makes a big difference. I think it's worth every penny.

Yes, there was a recent thread. The short shifter is a big improvement over the stock shifter. The stock unit's throws are really long. This makes your car feel much sportier.

Is a short shifter bad for the transmission because it only places it half in gear when you shift?

haha... having a short shifter def does not do that. at the base, there is an adaptor of some sort along with the rod, that lands in the same position as OEM, however the lever (shift knob) is in a less traveled position at the end of the throw.

the idea of cutting or shortening the shift rod is not having a short shifter as well.

I disagree on the SSBL unless you have supporting mods (upgraded brake pads) but I definately agree about the RSB.

I can't say about the short shifter on the solara because I have an auto, but I the Short Shifter is a great mod.

wutt up people . . . hey thanx for all of the input on tha short shifter . . . when I get back to Hawaii in the summer, I'mma definitely put that baby in then. Jus wonderin . . . are there any other short shifters out there for our car? And if the height is still the same for the TRD short shifter . . . have any of you done a "custom" shortening of the shifter shaft? Cause I was thinking about doing that as well on the short shifter . . . any input? Peace. ~d
