Mobile 1 synthetic motor oil vs. Toyota OEM motor oil

The oil gets black from the dirt, and higher quality filters have a better filter trapping the smaller particles that get into your oil. Your oil will always get black because most oil filters don't go smaller than 10-20 microns, so you will always have the smaller particles slipping through.

i currently have 23k miles and everytime i do my oil change my oil is usually never black....it jus gets a little darker. my friends always say "look you don't even need an oil change yet" and the always mess around saying "let me REUSE ur oil"....haha. is this bad that my oil is not getting dark? i've been doing my oil changes every 3k and i just started using the oem oil filter.

Mobil 1 and 0w-30 german castrol syntec are 2 real fully synthetic oils. many others claime to be full synthetic when they have some dino ingredients in them.

next, my question is what are the affects of changing from dino oil to synthetic? i have 75,000 miles on my car. what does it hurt?

there are none.. but it would be good to switch to a dino/synthetic oil..like syntec..

I got a question too... alot of the posts earlier sed that FRAM filters were WACK... i had to use a FRAM Double Guard... are those just as bad?..

you also have think about how the particles are reaching your oil in the first place. make sure your air filter is up to par.

i couldnt agree more. spend the few extra dollars and treat your solara with good products: K&N drop in filter, mobil 1 or full synthetic castrol, mobil 1 or OEM filter.
