Dual Exhaust For 2001 Solara Convert.

Postby phxjack » Wed Feb 11, 2004 12:00 pm

Has anyone seen - or know of - a dual exhaust setup for the 2001 Solara? I've seen a couple of pics of cars with duals, but I haven't seen any info on whether they were custom made (which I assume) or store-bought.
I have the TRD catback single at the moment.

Thanks :D

All dual exhaust you see on solara's is custom. I was doing a "top-secret" custom Dual TRD exhasut setup, but I think eveyrone knows about it now. Ill let ya know how it comes out.

you should get more performance with a single cat back exhaust system. duals on imports are primarily for looks...

Yeah, I know. The performance is plenty good now- I just like the looks of duals. I don't know why Toyota doesn't put them on from the factory Lexus does and Honda even puts them on the V6 Accord.

I have been considering welding an additional flange on at the point where the muffler bolts on and running a pipe between the spare tire and the rear suspension and then adding another TRD muffler on the left side. The only problem there is that the space between the spare tire and the body on the left side is narrower than on the right side and I don't think the Solara muffler will fit- may have to go with a smaller one from another Toyota (if I can find one that has the same chrome tip).

TRD never made a cat-back for our cars, its just the muffler.

I know this. I was talking about you will get the most performance from a single cat back system (TRD muffler + custom piping from the cat to the muffler.)
