Computer Reset

Hey guys, just wanted to say thanks for the tips on here. I took a trip and about 600 miles into it my CE light came on, I didn't do anything about it other than check the oil and tranny fluid (I know shame on me) but it was running fine. About another 650 miles later my anti slip light came on and wouldn't work either I didn't really care about that because I've never been too fond of it anyway.

So after digging around here I saw something about disconnecting my battery for 10 minutes, so I did and everything is working again. Not sure what the problem was but that took care of it, if it comes back I will take it in but I am glad I did this before spending the time and money to take it to the dealer.

I had the same thing happen when I blew knock sensors... my CEL came on and the ABS light came on to the point where I couldn't turn my traction control off... but then after I started my car again the ABS went off.. but the CEL was still on.. had to have the knock sensors replaced... r u running a SC?

Sorry, I'm not sure what a SC is? My car is a 2000 Solara SLE with no mods.

yeah... that happened to me when my knock sensor blew.. u should probably get that code read

im not saying that ur knock sensors are blown, but all that doesn't happen just because

That's a good point, so you are saying after your knock sensor blew you reset your computer and the lights went out, before replacing them?

they went out... but after a while they came back on.. after u blow a knock sensor, u have to replace them otherwise u will just have the CEL on all the time.. adn that means lost performance
