Toyota Warranty Issues(Dealer Screwing me around)
Hey everyone, I thought i might vent a little on how my local yota dealer has totally given me the runaround for two MONTHS!
On the way to work one day I noticed when I clutched the car and let it idle down that my oil light was on, i was only about a mile from work and almost late so i said screw it, ill check the oil on my way out. I had just changed the oil for the second time since i bought it (about 3 months prior, i have put roughly 8500 miles on the car) So i wasnt suprised when the stick showed nothing but pretty mobil 1. The light was still on, so i figured, its under warranty, if something happens, it just happens. Well, it did. About 5 miles down the road it started knocking hard and lost power, followed shortly thereafter by CLANK!>! and i heard a piece of metal hit the road and bounce around against the underside of the car(akin to a sound heard when gravel flies out of your tire. I knew then that it was probably a chunk of my block. Upon inspection i found the hole...sure enough, it threw a rod through the oil pan. I had it towed to the dealer where it was purchased (Toyota Certified, remainder of the 100000 mile warranty, blah blah blah) I was given a camry to drive(4 cyl, tan, auto, sucks) and was told they would get right on it. Days passed, I called to check and they said they havent started but it was top priority and that it would be ready by next week, more days, called and was told still havent started, engine on backorder. More days still(around the 1 month mark) was told that the dealer that sold me the car had failed to send off the warranty certification on my car........ and all the cars that he had ever sold(hes the sales manager, so go figure) and that they had to wait on a confirmation before they could start on it. Now, a full two months after my engine failed, they are auctually turning bolts on my car, but not to replace the engine, they are tearing down my old engine to inspect the oil pump, and are pretty much saying that if the oil pump is working, that they might not fix my car, and that a imz has never thrown a rod like that. WTF, they even told me one time that they already had all the parts. BULLSH!T I am going to the dealership tomorrow to get some answers, im tired of waiting for these idiots, Carlock Toyota sucks...k, i feel better, sorry for the book
