supra 1jz engine

is it possible to move the 1jz engine into the solara? b/c if i wanna spend 3gs on a supercharger.. might not as well spend some extra and get the supra engine.. so.. will it fit..?? anyone has experience..??

1jz - 2.5 L inline 6 from the JDM Supra (Mark III)

2jz - 3.0 L inline 6 from the USDM Supra (Mark IV)

7M - 2.5?dunno the displacement... inline 6 from the USDM Supra (Mark III)

You will need to re-work the car to have rear wheel drive. Plus it's hard to find a good condition 2JZ and 1JZs are not avail. in the states except from importing... but when you get smogged OR inspected (whatever your state does), you're boned. Honda JDM engine swaps are ok since the engine actually was in production models here in the states.

even if you have a SC300/400 (Soarer), the swap will cost you at least 6G-9G.

so.. ultra slow.. how much did u pay for the whole turbo + installation..?? tat's faster than the supercharger rite..??

Someone was saying something about they had a supra 6 speed *(mebbe mounted up to the 2jz)* sidewasy in a solara.... prob cost a helll of a lot though.... heh pls dont kill me for sayin this, i know it sounds nuts but i remmeber someone saying that one of their friends did it.

he has a custom turbo'd 4cyl.

the s/c's are for the V6's.

so you cant really compare the 2 in terms of the turbo being faster than the S/c because they are on different motors.

I said that a buddy of mine and myself were going to try... he wants to convert my car to rear wheel drive.. he said that one of his instructors up in Wyoming had a Supra rear end that he was selling.. I was thinking of using that rear end.. its independent, so i could corner REAL well.. so.. its all in a plan, but I am going to wait to buy stuff till I get a set plan in july
