Safe to drive with only 4 lug nuts on a 5 lug nut wheel?

I just finished installing my new wheels/tires today. Tire Rack only sent me 16 lug nuts, when I need 20 of them :o Will it be safe driving with only 4 lug nuts on each wheel for a week?

It's fine...just check them before you go out for a drive to make sure they're not loose.

I wouldn't recommend it, but if you have to, don't corner hard at all.

Yeah I will be carrying a torque wrench in my car until I get the 5th lug nut for each wheel.

I am an aggressive driver and corner hard all the time. What will happen if I corner hard with only 4 lugs on each of the wheels?

there is a reason why some cars have 4,5,6,8,10 lugs.

fix it asap. its ok to roll on 4 lugs, but dont do anything abusive.

If you have to ask... Seriously, chill out until you get them all on there. Or drive like a fool and roll the dice.

can't you use the lugs from the wheels you replaced as a hold-back till tirerack comes back?

Nope I wish I could... the lugs that came with the Solara are lug bolts and are a completely different size to the lug nuts on my new wheels.

Ok everyone, I just got my missing lug nuts from Tire Rack today. They FedEx' them overnight :D

Hey and I drove with 4 lug nuts on each wheel for a few days and no problems at all!!! I even took some hard turns and went 120mph lol... guess that proves it's alright.
