Another website gives a little more detail for the code:
505 The idle speed air control motor doesn't seem to be working correctly.

Usually there is some device that controls the amount of air that gets by the throttle body when idling. Might be as easy as cleaning the throttle body assembly? Or maybe the idle air control valve?

I had sum idle trouble too... refer to this thread... it gives a list of possibilities (maybe)

so i cleaned out the thotel body it was hella dirty, rest the ecu, waited and then boom, more CE light. My car is idleing at 1000 rpms in park and 750 in drive. and it sounds extra crappy. Any body else got any more suggestions before i take it to the dealer to get raped.

I took mine to the dealer.

Mine wasn't warranty =( It was a dirty throttle body. It works fine now... x_x I also got a coolant and trans flush and the car actually felt better until I left the lot lol then it felt normal again. All that for $140 =]

If it really is the idle controller in your case, it'll be a biatch to replace yourself. They told me it'd be a 7 hour job (probably 5 in real time) so x_x ouch

took my car to the toyota dealership down the street. Turns out i had a blown idle controll valve, cost me $383 for parts and labor. Oh well at least i got my baby running again.

I got mine replaced less than two weeks ago and it was less than 200 with labor... parts bought from toyota dealer

they charged me $200 for the idle controll valve and $170 for the labor, which looks like 4 bolts and a plug. Oh well at least I got my car back and running. I did a nice burnout in the parking lot to make sure it was working properly.
