Whiteline or TRD Rear Swaybar

Which rear sway would you choose? Money isn't an issue... But I want the best for my car. I will have TRD Bilstein Struts + Eibach Prokit...

I know that TRD has two settings, is the whiteline bar right in the middle of the two?

go with the TRD, I think its worth it for the settings (track & street)

The whiteline is a good bar but most of our guys have the TRD rear and the whiteline front sway. This is a great combo, but it's not the best combo for those who are still wanting to keep comfort. It's actually not the best setup for the average daily driver...it totally changes the handling characteristics of the car.

yeah. I miss that characteristic...

Mustang isn't all that good with handling, but it was definitely better than Solara... I had it lowered and had 18" rims on it... so it didn't have much body roll at all, was very predictable at cornering and didn't nose dive during heavy breaking...

I miss those handling characteristics... Thus the reason, I am getting TRD rear sway soon... TRD springs coming in tomorrow... and saving up for 19" tires.... :)

Flipside--

"...it totally changes the handling characteristics of the car."

Can you elaborate on this?

Thanks--

It definitely stiffens the ride. A novice driver would probably drive too fast around a corner and be able to lose control of the car if not experienced. Oversteer will develop on the RSB when on track setting....causing the rear end to break loose on certain situations. The combination of FSB and RSB can definitely improve handling in cornering situations but it as stiff as the suspension will get, your tires are only limited to so much grip, you can break the front tires loose and cause a very heavy understeer causing the car to lose control. The OEM suspension was designed for comfort only and yield some performance...but not much. You switch out the oem springs and struts for performance items and also add the RSB & FSB, you will definitely have a much stiffer suspension and ride. I would only recommend people get the FSB if they really know their car well. It's definitely not an upgrade if your car is daily driven.

Hello..

I am quite new here...and i have a question that i wish pros like you people can help me out! :D
I had my TRD RSB put on a few months ago but i didn't know there are two settings for it so when i saw the description on the package slip which says "Adjustable Anti-Roll Bar" i didn't pay much attention to the "adjustable". And then when i asked the mech to install it for me he didn't ask me which setting i prefer either, and he just put it on.
Now i am thinking about to get the FSB as well, but i will need to know which setting is for my rear one, so i can have the front installed weaker or adjust the rear one stiffer, is that right?
Also, how do i know which setting my RSB is using? To be frank, i really can't tell by feeling, i think i have to drive under both setting first so i can tell the difference.
Please advise me, thanks a lot!!!

Track setting is much stiffer than street setting. Street setting is just like stock...not worth putting it on that setting if you bought the bar. track is the furthest one out.

Furthest one out meaning the closest holes to the horizontal part of the bar. Let's make it simple..the holes closest to the horizontal bar. haha :D

A pictorial explanation...

Postby Guest » Wed Oct 02, 2002 9:38 pm

Here are what the two holes on the TRD RSB look like.

The hole closest to the end is the "street" setting, the hole closest to what Flipside called the horizontal bar is the "track" setting.

Thanks to Flipside and Luc's illustration... 8)
I've realized that my roll-bar is installed with the street setting..
Feel kinda stupid but i am also very happy...
because i know that the performance still has some space to be IMPROVED!!!
Well...dont know if it will be a noticeable change..but i do have much expectation on it
