Toyota is a ROBBER!!

My Airbag warning light started flashing two day's ago. Today, I took it to my local Toyota dealership and asked them what was the diagnostic fee they gonna charged me. They said it's 120 bucks. I did a search on this forum and the guy said it was only 80 and the problem was fixed. wtf!! :agrue:

My Solara doesn't have warranty so I just ignore the airbag problem until the next problem happens.

Well it's airbag, i wouldn't take this risk.

What if your airbags popped out while u are driving for no reason?

I think it's even wrost with the CEL on

dont rely on the forum too much... everyone gets quoted differently depending on the area you live in

if you had the same airbag problem I had its not that hard of a fix... My airbag light would just flash on and off.. and the fix was that there is a connector for the side airbag under the passanger seat, and if someone in the back kicks it it comes disconnected.. and all u have to do is connect... if mine goes off I just look for the wires and push the connector together.. pretty easy.. but it all depends on which bag it is

the cost to check for your Airbag Light and/or your Check Engine Light is 1 hr of pay at Toyota.. and depending on the area you live in the Hourly Rate is different from $50-$120 i guess.....an hour of Labor in my area is at $87.90.

Dealers set their own labor prices, not TOYOTA.

Our dealer charges 82/hour *_*

But if there it ends up being warranty, the fee will be waived.

Also if you decide to do the repair (I believe, at least at LONGO) the diagnostic charge is cancelled because you chose to get the work done.

thats what i meant.. i figured it was implied... yea the fee is put towards your bill if you decide to do the work at 355 Toyota too

After I read what you wrote, I shaked (just little shaked) the wires and the connectors (which located under the passanger seat) for a while. My airbag light was gone. Thanks for you guys information and I'm glad that I don't need to waste 120 bucks on the stupid airbag light. :lol:

this was a constant problem with my Gen 1... happened a few times.

They should check it for free... as it may be a TSB.
