Getting spoiler put on. Anything I need to know?

Well I'm putting on my spoiler this week. Im getting it done at a shop and wanted to know if there was anything I need to tell them before they start the job. I know that theres an issue with the brake light indicator on the dash where I have to tell them to wire the spoiler light to the third brake light so it wont stay lit (Is that right?), but is there anything else I need to tell the guy?

BTW, I plan to take the factory third light out after the spoilers installed. but I'll probbably keep the housing unless I can find something else to put in its place so I wont have a hole in my back shelf.

Thanks in advance

Even if the new wiring is hooked up to the existing brake light wire, the rear brake light indicator will remain on...atleast the one from Ebay's SpoilerDepot has this problem. So far I don't think anyone's been able to shut it off. Also, you may want to get some plastic sheaths to protect the wiring after it's installed as well as some adhesive clips so it can be mounted out of the way.

Thanks for the alert.

It came with zipties and wireloom so I think ok with that.

I thought all the spoilers' brake lights came with bear leads. Mine did...I dont see how it would make a difference whom I got the spoiler from, unless it depends on how much current the light draws or something.

Can anyone elaborate on this brake light indicator problem and a possible fix so I can tell the guy to do it right?

ask flash, because he has the same spoiler (c-d) he'd know whether or not it's having issues.

Im pretty sure the brake light problem was a generic aftermarket spoiler problem, or a wiring issue, so I just made it open.
I know to make sure they use the rustproof paint, but wasnt sure if there was anything else I needed to watch for. Now I hear theres no way to fix the brake light problem and just wanted to make sure that was the case.

If I remember correctly, someone a while back said that the people who installed the spoiler said the only way to fix the brake light was to tamper with the electrical box and that it would cost around $200-$250 to do. IMO, that's not worth it...I'd rather just check my brake light operation by backing up in front of a window or having someone else step on the brake

Well i got it done.
And I didnt say anything to them, cuz I wasnt really that concerned.

I yanked out the third brake light, but I need tto find something to put over the hole where the housing is before I take out the housing. I also yanked the rear brake light indicator bulb on the dash. I think its all good now until I find a piece of carpeting to go over that hole in my rear shelf.

Also my trunk feels heavier now. I feel like Im slamming it now every time I close it with the pressure i normally close it with.

It looks good. I have a new problem though. I didnt like the new spoiler with the stock Gen1 tails for some reason, so I put back on my CF Altezzas and it looks amazing now. But I have this gut feeling that I ripped off Flash because except for the CF tails and the fact that my car is black, it looks exactly like his avatar.

I wasnt really going for that, but I just found a killer deal on the Cali dream spoiler on ebay, and got the CF altezzas from a tail light trade.

Ill put pics up tonight.
