i feel that when i'm driving on the straight, i feel that the car is swaying a little to the left.... and when i brake, the steering rotates a little to the left too. Car is new, barely 200 miles.... is it an alignment issue?

left drift due to worn brake pads!

Postby yingwei » Thu Apr 01, 2004 8:46 pm

the service center i'm at told me that the left drift was due to worn brake pads in my new solara... it had 106 miles on delivery. (30miles due to a transfer from another dealership)

apparently "the rotors can warp and spoil the pads" when the car is idle for too long at the car dealership?

and

"apparently the rotors can warp and spoil the pads when the car is idle for too long at the car dealership?"

Worn brake pads - rotors can warp ------------- on a new car?

after changing the brake rotors, pads and doing the TSB on the front coil springs, there is STILL a very mild mild left drift.

I still find myself pulling the car to the left (but never on the right) when i let go of the steering and have it go on a straight road.

sigh.

wondering if i should turn it in again at the workshop. Still only with 250+ miles.
