Whiteline FSB brackets

Postby PTSOLARA » Mon Apr 12, 2004 11:46 pm

I have a 1999 Solara. Both of my front FSB brackets are broken. Should i order those stock from Toyota or are there "aftermarket" ones that i can buy so they would last longer?

The whiteline FSB gives me grieves from time to time. The passenger side of the FSB would come loose every 3 - 4 months.

Do you mean the U bracket? or do you mean the yellow bushings that come with the FSB? or do you mean the swaybar endlink?

I meant the U Brackets. both of them are broken. It is making a lot of noise when the car goes through bumps (i can even hear it during normal driving). Longo Toyota wants to charge me $12 for each. But i don't want to buy them stock if they are gonna break again down the line.

U Brackets

Postby PTSOLARA » Tue Apr 13, 2004 9:17 am

Both of them are broken (The U part). The screws are still there but the U piece was broken off.

So should i get them from the dealer or is there any after market ones that i can buy?

i doubt any aftermarket co makes them.

you're better off for picking a pair up for $12 each.

I broke mine once too. I replaced them with the factory ones. If they break again I will buy the Energy Suspension bushings, then just use the higher quality Energy Suspension bracket or the bushing and bracket. I've switched out the rears to get the grease fitting the already. Cant fit the grease fitting in the front... I tried. Their brackets are at least twice as thick as the factory. But I have very little room on the fronts,so it will be a tight fit since they are thicker.

I went on the Energy suspension web site and narrowed down the top two or three bushing/bracket combos that would work. I'll try and dig through my old notes.

I have a feeling that mine is broken too. Right now I know the swaybar is making sound, I suspect it's either the endlink or the U-bracket. I haven't gotten the time to jack up the car.

We've opened a whole new can of worm when we harden the suspensions. :D

FSB bracket

Postby PTSOLARA » Thu Apr 15, 2004 4:31 pm

Wiz2, let me know the part # from Energy when you find the right one for our car. I might buy the standard bracket from the dealer and install it ($11 a piece) this weekend.

EMailed Whiteline.com on this. Their response is that the whiteline FSB is designed to work with the standard bracket. However, he did mention he has something stronger but we'll have to give him the exact measurement.
