CAI Extension for Weapon-R

CAI Extension for Weapon-R

Postby sunrise_solara » Thu Apr 22, 2004 5:51 am

Alright, during the discussion about the extension from UR, all of the talk centered on the Injen short ram being the basis for the modification. My question is, can this work on the Weapon-R short ram that I have, or will there be clearance issues? Correct me if I am wrong, but the main difference that I can see from photos shows the Injen with a dog leg bend, whereas the Weapon-R is straight. I called UR and talked to RJ, who said Matt was out. He had no idea. BTW, both have a 3" outlet as far as I know. Thanks-

First off it's Injen not Ingun

Secondly it's 2.75" inside diameter for the pipes not 3.00"

Thirdly no one has yet applied it to a weapon-r short ram so you can be the first. You are taking a risk by making it fit. It was designed to fit with the Injen ISshort ram. You will need to modify a few things. Look at the pics and ask your self..."What would I need to do to connect the short ram to the extension?" :drinking:

Good Luck!

Boy, am I the dumb f*ck now... "Injun"... totally zoned out when it came to the sig...thanks for the heads up...Anyway, the 3" information came from R.J. from UR. I do look at the pictures, and somewhere in my "fabricators mind," I see it happening...hopefully it will work, because I loved the CAI on my 99 Maxima SE 5-speed. Any more information will be ever so appreciated...
BTW, I spelled it correctly in my post, so that should count for something, right?

The best I can tell the pipes are the same, at least on the 5S-FE platform. The only difference I see is the filter, foam vs. cotton. I think all the 1MZ-FE short rams are straitish, although I could be wrong.

Let's just pretend I didn't grow up, or you're going to be terribly disappointed.

It might not line up. If it does not line up exactly you can try to loosen up at the trotle opening and push it down alittle and tighten it back up. I don't know what other coupler you can use to connect it in an angle not aligned and being so close.

It looks alittle shorter than the Injen or its probably the filter making it seem that way.

Go for it! Worst case you can sell your weaponr short ram to buy an Injen.
