So what your saying solarat is that since I don't have inspection, I'd be fine without the CAT? but I'd have my check engine light on, right?

you will be fine with out the cat, however you will get the cel.

quite annoying when you see that yellow light when driving at night.

there was a way to trick the 02 sensor that goes down there i think. but you'll have to search for that.

You guys are missing the ENTIRE point.

Its useless to bypass the cat. You may be losing 1-2HP as a result of it. Put your time and effort into another project.

The o2 simulator (available from jim@foreignaffairs) was atleast $99 plus the cost of the pipe. Not to mention the many hours of labor

You could get similar gains by just getting a catback exhaust

Neither of these two routes will yield more than 5hp on a i4 or v6, infact in some cases the loss of backpressure will cause you to lose power.

As a side note, regardless of what state you live in, its illegal to tamper with emissions equipment (catalytic converter)

Plus its going to make your exhaust smell terrible!!

Its a pointless mod.

just get rid of your resonator and run some new piping and everything will be ok....my resonator was bent anyways.

I wouldn't say that. I think the server went down again and posts got deleted. It happened to other threads as well.

please do not start possible conflictions. it will be the easiest way to get banned.

fyi, and others do believe, the server did go down. posts were deleted and the site was reverted to how it was before the server/host reload.

i'm not trying to start a conflict here. I think it's just stupid for a site moderator to make assumptions before making posts about someone. maybe they should think before they speak.
this will be my last post about this
