I just had my headlights on, so I put the fogs on thinking they would realize.. but I just kept getting brings.. I have HID in both my fogs and headlights.. .whats the best way to get this fixed? I know how to adjust the headlights.. but what can I do to get the glare gone?

i think you can look for these things called diffusers. I think theyre supposed to focus your hid's so that it doesnt blind oncoming mofos. i read that somewhere but i forgot, i'll try to find it again.

let me clear this up

Postby bluesolara » Wed May 05, 2004 12:55 am

Alrite, wassup guys!

Scott, I'm the person you're looking for to answer this question...
I know EXACTLY what you're looking for.

you see, the glare of your HID's are coming from the "BOTTOM" part of your bulb, the way it works is that it bounces off the bottom of your headlights, and shoots straight upwards...understand?
this causes enormous glare into people eyes.

so, a shield looks something like this
http://faq.auto.light.tripod.com/h4-shi ... pers-2.jpg

this will block off the light coming from the BOTTOM part of the bulb, and greatly reduce glare, but sadly, it doesn't eliminate it. But then the glare helps you view far away signs from some 1 mile away.

that should help the situation. Go buy CASPER ELECTRONIC shields, go find their website, and purchase it! should be a really easy installation...some people even make their own shields, if you have the craftsmanship.

for further questions, either pm me, or go HIDFORUM.COM, there are some crazy HID experts out there...

alrite, all the best to you

GOd bless

Kevin=)

lets get on top of this... Lets start requesting to a few companys to make the projector headlights! I searched about headlight topics, and in everyone there are different people wanting the same thing... lets just get someone started on making them!

also is it possible to split the wires going to the stock headlight, and take the power from the brights, and hook that up to another bulb??? that way you could have high beams w\ the H4 because u would have another bulb expecially for high beams?

you'd basically have the set-up for the Gen 1.5's

i wouldnt even bother putting in another bulb for the Gen 1 headlights... modifying the housing runs the risk of excessive condensation! For clear corners thats common, but for headlights that sucks!! :evil: i guess you can seal the sucker up too but i wouldnt even bother with the whole deal since you also got remember to have the capability to aim your high beams to the right spot
Retired... its been fun Image

came to the conclusion, that if a company makes projector headlamps for a PT Cruiser, A PT CRUISER OF ALL CARS, that they can make them for the Solara.. come on, a PT CRUISER, who likes those cars anyway?

lets get on top of this, I am e-mailing different people today to see who may do this

I emailed one of the companys that makes custom headlights, and they said that I would need 3000 orders, and would have to have the money in advance. .nad it would take 18-24 months.. screw that

I just finished making some projectors for my car and was debating on duplicating the process for others. I guess if we can get a show of hands at how many would be interested I can debate this a bit more.
