it's pretty easy to install. just takes some time.

most audio shops will have the "pocket" because most toyotas use the same dbl din size. It should run 10-15$ unless you want the fancy one found in stock accords (w/ the little door) then it's more (if they even make it.)

A good basic mp3 player would be the Eclipse CD 3414. I had that as a temp unit and it was nice. It even corrected some "screachy sounds" found in some mp3s... that amazed me lol. That think retails @ 199 I think. If that's high for your budget, then I don't know what's good in the 100-200 range.

Good luck

I think your right on the Eclipse, they dont have detach face. Another good unit is the Clarion DXZ835MP. Around 219 dollars at thezeb.com They had been on sale a while back so I can' guarantee they still have them. I have one in my Solara. Works great, not a hint of trouble with and it does have detachable face..

The reason i was using my factory headunit because i dont want to attract someone to break the window (and they will find more and more goodie in my car). but now my radio is broken that i cannot listen to any of radio station, so i guess its time to get a head unit. I think a good way for hinding the eclipse unit out is to use the factory cd player face plate to hide it out. (seen done on civic before).

I like clarion because it is very user friendly..but if i remeber in my old clarion, I dont have much freedom to tune the tone isnt (only have pre-set eq....Z-hencer). Does those newer one different?

Yes the clarion has tonal adjustment for Bass mid and treble. with frequency adjustment for all three and "q" adjustment for bass and midrange.

Alpine has various models to choose from. I've been an avid Alpine fan. Personally, my 9824's been going strong for 2 years.

You can get the 95 Camry factory pocket that has that little door that is so cool. Otherwise 10bucks for the generic one with the pocket hole.

It depends on what you want to do with your system. I just wanted strong power to my speakers with no external amp and went with Alpine's CDA 9815 model. You can tune it really well and has a Mosfett V-Drive internal amp 60w x 4 (27x4)RMS They actually recommend a 10 gauge power wire directly from the battery. I love it! The thing bumps like crazy! It just took time to tune it since it has crossover, equalizer, & Bassfocus.ect.. You can actually pinpoint sound from each speaker to reach your ears at the same time! Not to mention other stuff I have not even checked out yet.

I don't think it's being sold anymore but here is its replacement...

Of coarse you can get it allot cheaper somewhere else. . .

Good luck with your mod! Hey don't worry about theft! Just make sure you get a detachable face (Most are) and it won't draw attention.

Most aftermarkets jut out, especially ones with detachable faces, so you can easily take the face off.

Easy way to fix this is drill holes further back on the mounting bracket that comes with the pocket.

Hmm..door with a pocket. I think I might look into that since stuff is flying out of my pocket all the time if I floor it. Where can I find one of these?

junk yard or toyota dealer. ask for the lower plastic din. It's for a 95 camry. If you get to find out the price let us know.
