Milt, i would love to get it lowered, but with the roads i drive on everyday, my car will just be getting abused. Thats the reason i couldnt stick with the 18 in chromes and had to go with these rims and much bigger tires. The 18s were 225/40/18 and these are 215/55/17

Same here - I had to "un-lower" after moving to the DC area...

Now the cornering is not that great anymore, but my guts feel a lot better the rest of the time :)

Side benefit - the knocking and clunking noises I had for almost 4 years and 4 sets of upper strut mounts are almost entirely gone. Still some mild "thumping" but nothing like before, and most importantly the 'clanking' is gone :). Since I did all installs the only variable is the springs --> they were stressing the strut mounts too much and hence the clanking.

(p.s. 'before'=Tokico struts /TRD springs/IS 300 17x7 with 215/50/17 tires, 'now'=same Tokico struts /Stock/same IS 300 17x7 rims with 215/50/17 tires)

All this good info = no lowering for me, no body kit for me, no sc for me b/c theres no place to use it, so what is left for me?
Actually considering the Greddy Evo 2 catback
but how will that look with no body kit?

they got some fakies over at ebay. Not sure on quality though. Some of the really nice looking ones are only sold with the rims (also on ebay). I believe they have actual emblems vs. toyota stickers on the fakies. I've asked the sellers as to where they aquired them, but no luck :-?

In Japan isn't the Lexus IS actually a toyota (badging)? I thought I saw it named the alteza (like the lights)? If so could they be imported?
