Would you rather pay $25 for Sparco pins, or $160+ for a new windshield. If you dont recall, I had my hood pop on me :(

Sparco Hood Pins

Postby solrchrgd » Sat May 22, 2004 2:54 am

I just installed Sparco Hood Pins a few months ago. I don't like the look but I put safety first. I have some pics on my cardomain.com site.

whats so different between the sparco hood pins and the niken hood pins, they look exactly the same, is it just brand name?
the shop were selling niken hood pins, they were gonna sell it to me for 35 bucks plus 100 bucks labor to install.

personally, i hate hood pins, it ruins the hood. I had my cf hood on for a while...taking it to 135. I figure, as long as your hood don't shake and its secured, then its okay. If your hood shakes though, i'd definatly invest in hood pins. I guess that just my own opinion. You lose either way, break a windshield..its 160 or you end up ruining a 300 + dollar hood.

Dont give advice like that dude, cuz someone might take it and screw up their car. Mine didn't shake, it just popped.

i say go with a trustworthy brand like sparco. i heard that the cheaper stuff tend to bend or break easier.

I've got the Sparco pins. Didn't want to deal with keys for hood locks. I'd probably lose the keys.
