OEM radio question?

OEM radio question?

Postby Jai_Jai_Binks » Mon May 24, 2004 9:09 am

I was recommended a nice music station by someone and even heard it on their Lexus LS430..but when i went to tune it into my OEM stock radio..i got OWN3D...how do i go to 91.2 ( i can go to 91.3 and get the station..but its full of static). Would a new radio solve this...or is there a way to bypass this on the 3in1 (radio, cd, casette) OEM jbl deck's.

there should be a way.

use the tuner, not seek?

let me get this straight.

the station is 91.2, but you can only go to 91.1, 91.3, 91.5 etc?

kinda odd, but you should be able to hit that station.

i did use the manual tuner (and not the seek). The settings go only in odd intervals..meaning 91.1 - 91.3 - 91.5 (they skip ALL the even intervals). I tried getting 91.2... was unsuccessful..and hence posted here..

BTW: this is the same prob on my 4th gen camry and my gen 1 solara..I've not tried my ES yet..but was PO'ed that both stock radio's only allow the user to manually select stations ending with odd decimal digits...

even numbered stations are usually just on european style radios, this is a little odd. but 90% of the radios out there have the ability to turn into those increments, ill have to do a little research and find out how to switch the oem radio to this application. Its cheaper for the factory to make one unit that does both. so there is proberly a way to do it. just need to play with it
