Before this thread gets locked, I just wanna explain a few things..first off, I was replying to whiteflash's post, I dont know why you jumped in. Also, my car is stock I'll admit, but it wasn't not too long ago. And..its not what I've had on my car that made me say that, its how many times Ive seen potential new products come out, some people put money down, some talk sh*t, and some complain about the price. If you don't believe me STILL, IM me and we'll talk.

Edit: Looks like ive been through a lot more mods than you have.

let me restate that... they make the angel eye projector headlights for the camry.. i forgot which 1 but they do have it....so y won't they make it for the solara??? i think its the 97-01 Camry too!!! aren't the headlights very similar... well... i'll find it later and post the website thats selling them... laters

what for... we all know the answer... but i'm just sayin... if they make it for the camry.. y not the solara... just leave it at that... we argue too much... do u think it was profitable for those ppl to make projectors for camrys?

all i see is bunch of old people driving them around in cali. it rare to see someone young driving around

It means Japanese Domestic Market aka the version sold in Japan. Like USDM would mean US Domestic Market (US Version).

We won't get the parts because, as stated, the demand is not there. If they were made, most would be like "are they good quality?" and various other concerns like that.

Various brands make different civic parts because the demand exists. The civic is (or was?) Honda's best selling vehicle which, often, you see moded by 'Honda kiddies' that blow their money on random things that they can afford at that time, as opposed to saving up for the real mod they originally planned for... The buyer demographic would obviously be ridiculously different since the majority of Solara owners/modders think their mods though prior to purchasing a random part. I've seen friends w/ civics go into a shop when (we didn't plan to go to) and pick up random parts because they had a few bucks in their accounts... while I plan what I want for my car and go get it after I have enough.

The quote in Chris' signature is true, for the most part. We are a very conservative group when it comes to purchasing new products that just came out and the manufacturers know that.

Most likely they make it for the Camry because the amount on the road (duh) but like Kenny stated, most are older people.... however, we forget that most older people give their camry to their kids so they can learn how to drive! That's why the small, yet still bigger than the Solara aftermarket part market, demographic is still profitable.

They make parts for the 89 box accords... why? because the demand is still there. it's a common car for a 16 year old to inherit from their parents. =P

rather than read through all the posts..im just gonna say this....on this message board we are all solara enthusiasts. There are RELATIVELY few of us compared to other cars even othr toyotas. Remember that this car no matter what anyone says is still a camry if you really wanted a sports car you woulda bought a more "pure" sports car..i.e. ( MR-S,celica,rsx,MX-5 wrx, evo, etc..) thusly when people fix up their car or try to make it perform better they usually do it to cars that are more inclined for it. This would explain why their is realtively few parts for making our cars faster and is limited to looks and minor upgrades. So realize before you complain about lack of parts that there is a reason for it. if you have a celica or even an old JZA80 supra there are a lot more parts avaiable. Also remember the cardinal rule of any business is to make money. if there arent enough solara owners that fix up their cars then why make it..? and one last thing if want projectors go make them yourself. this is in no way bashing, cuz obviously i have a solara also. just wat i think.
