4 piston calipers up front?

4 piston calipers up front?

The new 4 runners, some of them have 4 piston calipers up front and i have yet to look into braket sizes but if they can stop a 4300lb truck they sure as hell can stop a car that weights 1/2 ton less right? Is that logical?

Yes, but the size of the rotor also makes a difference.

Ericsol's big brake kit may only be a larger rotors w/ a same ghetto 1 piston (right? or is it 2? lol) oem caliper. But since the rotors spins, and the brake caliper is pushed out more, it provides some more stopping power (surface area used) instead of having a stronger brake that would grip it a lot harder.
1GR-FE ftw!

how are you going to make a rotor that is made for 6 lug fit through something that is made for 5 lug?

i was thinking of rotors not calipers. haha

hmm so to upgrade to bigger calipers. you would need to make a adaptor bracket similar to the one eric sol has done.

Want better braking power? Upgrade the lines, pads, and tires.

The calipers aren't going to help you all that much on the streets.
