A few questions...

Sorry if these are dumb questions but i dont have a service manual and Im going to try and change my brake fluid. I have done this before on my motorcycle and it was really easy. I just need to know what size tubing I would need for the bleed valve and how big the nut for the valve is. and do you think i could just flush the system completely of the old fluid and fill it with new fluid or should I gradualy replace it by bleeding, filling, bleeding, filling, till its completely replaced with new fluid. One more question...lol... Do I use DOT3 or DOT4 brake fluid. SORRY AND THANKS ALOT!

no smaller than 1/4 (i think its 1/8 actual size) to make things simpler.

you can go either way, but depleting the whole system is prone to air staying in the lines.

so i'd go w/ a constant bleed and refill until the fluid is nice and clear.

since you will be doing the system, dot 3 or 4 is compatible/mixable w/ each other, but why not just go for the dot4 b/c of a tad higher boiling point.

as for the size i think the bleeder is 6mm, but where the hoses connect is either 8 or 10. i forgot...

Thanks. I just finished doing the brakes. For the tubing I just got those clear tubing for the fish tanks at a pet store and it fit good. I just got the DOT3 fluid that said in the manual. The brakes are much better, its not "squishy" and its more stiff. thanks again

I take it that you don't have ABS? If you do, it is my understanding that you have to have special equipment in order to cycle the ABS in order to change the fluid.

Well im sure i have abs.... im not positive though... its a 2000 se v6 model.... But how would the abs system interfere with getting the old fluid out? If the fluid comes out of the lines then that should mean the fluid is coming out of the master cylinder so i think it should be good. Well as long as the brakes are better now, hats all that matters
