Stereo and AC reset everytime I start the car

Stereo and AC reset everytime I start the car

Everytime I start the card I have to re-enter the code for the MP3 player. My AC is reset back to default setting. But my clock is not resetted. The battery is pretty new, replaced within a year. Is my alternator or starter is going bad? Help! Thanks!

bad headunit installation'

he probably tapped the wrong a/c power cable

One is supposed to be connected to a constant supply so it knows it's still connect to the car... or something like that

I hope you bought a harness rather than hacking wires. Using a harness will lower your chances of making a mistake too.

You can also just hardwire to your battery, I did that with mine....

It was working fine for the longest time for about 2 years. It resets everytime I start the car. If I don't start the car everything works fine. The receiver works fine as soon as the car starts but I have to set the damn passcode. Weird. Looks like to me that when the car starts, somehow the alternator lost power between the transition from battery over to alternator when the car starts?

Most likely its not a fuse if you are still getting power. Unless you have an inline fuse on the constant 12 volt, it shouldn't be affected

You might have a short. Take a multimeter and make sure that the red wire (ignition) going to the headunit only has power wtih the car on and hte yellow wire (constant has it all the time
