I'll tell you what I feel. Whenever I see a car, whether its a soccer mom minivan, SUV, a normal car , a coupe, whatever, and some neon on it, I think the person driving the car is youthful and trying to do something to mod their car. It makes me grin, seeing this neon in the ho hum of all the other cars on the road. If you see yourself as this person, do it. Is your car modded out on rims and kit and drop and such? If so, then yes I would do it, as it just adds to the show effect as well.

Not every mod has to be about racing and speed, this car is a cruiser so do what you want. And oh yeah, blue and red are illegal so watch out for keep them on as I DO see cops pull ppl over with them. Check out a green, yellow or purple, perhaps. And go for Streetglow, as they have good quality products as far as mainstream neon kits go.

Police really don't like purple either. A buddy of mine put purple neons under his 95 Firebird and the police hounded him like crazy due to his purple neons. They eventually told him to cut them off or he'd get a ticket.

i love the effect of neon, and personally i would only buy the street glow gold kit, LIFETIME Warranty if the outer tube stays solid, its always the inner tube that breaks =0p
If it doesn't kill you.....it only makes you faster!

Dang r u for real... I was considering putting on a purple kit all around, and I thought it wouldn't get any trouble since I know some people in my area and haven't heard from them about getting hassled. Maybe they had some neon coming out the front of the grill? I'd only keep the light hitting the ground, not coming out up from it.

He had it all the way around his car and they told him to take it all off. That could just be here in KY though. I know red is illegal but when I get my body kit I'm puttin red LED's under mine, but I won't run around with them on all the time. Just for our car show every month.

undercar neon kits only look good on a fully modified ride (18s or bigger, drop, bodykit, exhaust)...looks just plain stupid on stock cars w/ steelies...IMO.

besides, in CA where cops pull you over for everything, they're citation magnets!

I'm pretty sure it's illegal to drive in any state in the nation with neon lights on.

They're legal to have, but you cant turn them on while driving because it "distracts other drivers"

I could be wrong though, but i dont think i am..

Its for off-road and show use only. ALL neons are illegal for road use.

Red and blue neons are illegal doubly, since it additionally is "impersonating a police officer" on top of the regular ticket.

I know the inspection guy was taking a peek under the edge of my car with a mirror since I had indiglo gauges, blue signal arrows, and silverstar corners when I went for inspection. I think he was looking for neons, but if theyre legal to have, Im not sure why he would look.

And im not sure about this, but I dont think Neons would fit right without a body kit's side skirts, or else they have nothing to hide behind.

Yeah I feel the same way. That's why I'm waitin for my body kit and before that I'll have it lowered as well with my rims.

They're illegal around here most of the time until the car show comes to town. When it's here we can just about get away with anything. I've seen a line of cars and trucks with neons under them pass right by a KY state trooper and didn't do a thing to them but that was the night of the car show. I've even seen a few dumb city cops edge on some of the muscle cars do a burn out (in a parking lot with no one around of course).
