Anybody intrested in Camry/Solara urethane motor mounts?

Any update?

Has there been any update on these motor mounts? I am interested in the pair, and wish to purchase these ASAP. I want to get them in before the spring racing season, get some testing in before I run.

As Eric mentioned, he can hook us up with the front mount. He passed the rear mount to Energy Suspension. I called once after Eric posted that and was told they weren't doing anything with it. After just receiving parts from Summit Racing, they had a flyer from Energy Suspension in the box so I called them again. They have the mold for the mount but they said they never heard back if the mounts held up or not so the project never advanced. I just told them that so far they are holding up fine and asked if they could produce these.

So you're right, don't pester Eric, but on the other hand if you (please) call Energy Suspension and show interest or even better, send them an email. If they see there is a demand for them, it might help. I would indicate that you are informed the molds have already been created. However, even if they do add them to their list, it will take a while before they are commercially available. It's the normal processes these things have to go through with fabricators so be patient. Right now we only have stock rubber available...

By the way, if anyone is interested in other urethane bushings, Energy Suspension has them for the front and rear sway bars and the front and rear control arms too. You can get them through Summit Racing. -JoeB

Hey,

Are the mounts still available??

EricSol wrote:After 2 months of development I have come up with urethane replacement motor mounts. The front hydraulic mount is replaced with a traditional urethane mount and the rear soft rubber bushing also gets replaced by urethane. These mounts are virtually indestructible and my severe wheel hop has been reduced to a slight chatter or shudder. The mounts leave the car with only the slightest shake at idle and after 1k rpm its as smooth as stock. I tried different compounds and I could totally eliminate all the wheel hop but it left the car shaking violently at idle. Traction has increased tremendously, I could only go about 1/4 throttle in 1st gear before it would spin the tires and now I can almost go wide open without wheel spin.

I need an idea of how many people would be interested if I was to make a kit. Exact manufacturing cost are to be determined but your probably looking at $175 to $275, about the cost of factory replacements.

Have you guys been calling Energy Suspension? I have been pretty neglectful here, sorry. Since my last post, I was working with a guy there on this. You should really change these together but the front mount is a Jeep part# 2.1102G and the rear mount is a new part. I got a set but haven't had time to get them on yet. I will try to do so soon and provide feedback to both you guys and Energy Suspension.

They told me they never did anything with it because they never heard anything back from the original people that got the prototypes. I guess I'm just as guilty, even worse since I haven't installed them yet. They did tell me it would take a while until it showed up in the product listing but they would work on it. Try calling. -JoeB

I'm really struggling trying to get these installed. I took it to 1 place, they didn't get it installed but managed to damage the side of my car. After a couple weeks, the damage is mostly fixed. The TRD side skirt is not sticking well. I made an appointment at another place and they were going to install it today. I just found out that for some reason my front mount is NOTHING like the one in the picture. The only thing I can think of is that Eric's car is manual and mine is automatic. My front mount is a very large round barrel shaped mount. :(
