Weird noise when idling in gear

Weird noise when idling in gear

Postby Jon11582 » Tue Jun 08, 2004 9:51 am

I just noticed this today. When I step on the brakes and come to a complete stop in gear (Reverse or Drive), this weird low pitched him comes from the right side under my hood about a second after Im completely stopped. If I kick it into neutral or park, or if I let go of the brake, it goes away.

What is it? Im thinking its time for some maintenance, but I need to know what needs to be maintained. I think Im around 45K about now, and all the maintenance Ive done is new tires, new brake pads, and regular oil changes. Is it the transmission?
