swirl marks all over! help

Try using scratch X or meguiar swirl remover. Next time dont wash with anything but a terry towel and dont do it in a circular motion. Waxing can all give the impression that swirls are gone.

Ouch! Why would you do that to your car anyway?!

Any anti-scratch or anti-swirl will do. You can buy it at any automotive store like Pepboys or Autozone.

I would recommend http://www.zainostore.com to remedy the damage. They have special products there that might fit your needs. Also, spend some time reading their car detailing tips. It would really help you from making another mistake like a dish washing sponge.

sorry, but........... HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHA

ok with that aside, you'll have to spend a hell of a long time using swirlx, then some nupolish, and then meguires wax (all of which i recommend), to get that out. make sure u use 100% terry cotton towels. u can goto warlmart or target and get like a 16 pack for around 20 bucks. its well worth it. change the cloth often. wash in warm water without and fabric softener. if you still cant get those swirls out, then you might have to shell out of 75 for a professional detail, but they use a buffing machine that will definetely get all that out. anyhow, good luck, goto the 'detailing' area in this forum for more tips. oh and by the way, if u used a dishwashing sponge, u prolly used dishwashing soap, which you SHOULDNT use, cuz it strips the wax. go spend a few bucks on carswashing soap. good luck!

Do what you can with ScratchX. It probably wont be much though, since I havent had much luck with that stuff for serious scratches.

Then give it a good polish to try and fix up the scratches. I use ColorX (I know, Im a Meguiar's whore), but you can use anything.

Then rewax it. Hopefully the scratchs arent TOO deep and the wax can fill in the swirls. Swirls are only visible since the sun shines off the "edges" of the swirls. A good wax should fill the valleys and eliminate edges, but it can only go so far.

Thats alot of work and a decent amount of money on products though. Might be better to bring it to a professional detailer if it looks pretty bad.

:) ...we all make mistakes. Get your car buffed/detailed for like $60-75 like hari_trivedi said, it'll remove the swirl marks.
