Yea...tell me about it...heard a clunking noise for a couple days, finally took it to my friend's shop...turns out I broke my two front TRD springs. Both of um...broken completely through, like somebody cut them. Which of course is not the case...looks like they were pretty rusted. Damn the rain!!! Anyways so gotta buy new ones I guess...

I had both front OEM springs break on a '92 Accord. It took 7 years though.

Is it because she's in Hawaii, and is always around salty-air. My friend works in Malibu and his Prelude is starting to rust in some places. Most noticably his muffler, piping, struts, and springs.

Yea I dunno...we had that hurricane month where it rained like crazy here so I dunno. But yea rust is a problem here. I know it's rare....all my friends are like WHAT?? How did you do that??? lol

Hello

I am from Dayton, OH. I went to change my wheels for the summer and I had broken a TRD coil spring on the left front (springs have been in since 2000). It broke on the back side at a sharp angle. The spring was rusted, but because of the rain covering the exposed area. 3 weeks before the broken spring, I put in tokico struts. I thought the stiffer rate caused unwanted stress since the springs were used to the softer stock struts. About a month ago I was searching for a clicking sound in the front so I took the wheels off. What do you know, a broken right front spring. Now I have to new springs in front. I will check periodically to see how they are doing. I thought I was the only one with this problem.

What kind of struts do you have?

Did your spring break on the back side at a sharp angle where the plastic covering is? If so, it could possibly be a manufacturing defect.

heheh I was gonna try and pick up a used pair but I figured ahh might as well just change um all just in case. So I ordered a new set of TRD springs, not bad $217 including shipping...and you know Hawaii shipping is $$$
