I average about 375 to 400 mpg. The math almost always averages out to be 25 MPG.

I get 450- 490 from a tank of gas. 490 miles on 18 gallons using 89 octane which is about 27 mpg and, 478 miles on 17 gallons using 93 octane which is about 28 mpg. :o I guess exhaust and a hot air intake helps gas mileage alot.

I floor when needed, reach 100 daily, and still get close to 430-450 before i fill her up again (and mind you at 430-450 miles the low gas lights still not lighted - and yeah, the gas light does work). As much as i hate the 5sfe engine...i love her for the gassavings.

Edit: Yeah, I have fun in my car..but rush hour traffic can't always be fun...but if you leave later..and come home early..it can be!

180-220 mostly city on 3/4 tank at $2.50 a gal of 92 octane gas. So if anyone can beat me, I declare victory :)

mpg

Postby sloara » Wed Jun 16, 2004 7:46 am

I usually get around 280-300 mpg with mostly city driving and not driving the car hard. There was a time when I would get 250 mpg and it turned out I had a blown motor. What caused this, well doubling the boost of the S/C from 4 psi to 8 psi. I also ended up breaking 4/6 pistons.

If you drive normal, then do a leak down compression test to see if your compressions are down. They should be 180 psi.

I average about 300-340 and I drove between 80-90mph. I drive about 60% highway and 40% street. I have a 99 V6 SE.
