if you ever changed a/t shifter lightbulb - please help me!

Ok my bulb blew months ago and ive been too lazy to change it. Today I removed the black surround. Under that was one visible philips head screw so I removed that (the hole is at the top left of the shiftgate indicator panel in my pics). Now I can wiggle the shiftgate back and forth and even lift up the front part a 1/2 inch or so but it feels held down by something else towards the rear which I cannot see. Yea I followed that, and the instructions were kinda vague.

Anyone out there got a Hayne's diagram for this? I wish my local autoparts store actually had the book in stock, then I would buy it. I can feel the bulb socket below the "N" in PRND2L but the shift gate wont lift up high enough for me to get under there. There has to be a trick to it. Toyota knows lightbulbs do blow from time to time and wouldnt make one thats impossible to replace, would they?
