Sylvania Silverstar 9003/H4

What about the Sylvania cool blues? Has anyone tried those? When I was looking at them at Pep Boys, they looked to be the same as the sylvania 9003's but with a blueish color. Maybe that would get rid of the yellowish tint of the regular sylvania's. The sylvania application guide at Pep Boys indicated that the cool blues would work.

Also, are the same lights (9003's) used for the fogs and headlights? I have a '99.

i believe the fogs are the same as the '01 which would be 9006. you would definitely want to change those too, because it doesn't look right with white heads and yellowish fogs.

Sylvania Cool Blues are good bulbs. The first set i've ever had were 9004 (dual filament) on my 90 Corolla LE. Then I moved up to an Avalon...and had the 9006 in the high beams. Now that I have the Solara, i've since transferred the 9006 CB into my Solara foglights. And the Sylvania Silverstars are now in my headlights. The color of the SS is much more whiter than the fogs...but definitely no stock yellow color from each of the lights.

99-01 = 9003/H4 (headlights) and 9006 (fogs)
02-03 = 9006/HB4 (lowbeam) 9005 (highbeam) and 9006 (fogs)

flip i completely agree with you. I don't like dual-filament bulbs. I am now shopping for HID upgrades, and most are just low beam xenon with hi beam halogens. The only bi-xenon bulbs i have found were the Philips Stage 2 running at 6000K for $800. I have FX bulbs that i got from ebay supposed 90/100 watts. I must say they are insanely bright and perfectly white, i am just getting nervous about running to hot and melting my headlight housing and frying my wires. I have also notices that the whiter the bulb, the harder it is to see in bad weather.

get a new wiring harness.. that should keep it from melting your setup

yea...it looks so yellow..i looked at the display of digital camera next to the car when i was outside and they were totally different colors!! the headlights were white/purplish and the fogs were brighter and whiter...it photographed as being pretty much the same color and yellow/stock looking

i just bought one of those $20 ebay xenon lights. i lucked out..they accidently sent two pairs...good thing.. i need them after the accident.

yea, i like them..it's subtle..not blinding or super purple..not bad for 20bucks...the pics don't show em off..but it's subtle.

i think from what i saw, the nokya's are still brighter than the blue vision bulbs. i believe the blue visions are around 3700K and the nokya's are 4100K. i don't know the lumens specs, which depends on why you are upgrading your bulbs in the first place. if you are doing it merely for looks, the nokya's will appear brighter.
