When i get it I'm planning on installing it myself and I was wondering do I really need a torque wrench or do I jus try to make it as tight as possible? Have any of you guys pass new smog test in California with out switching out the hi-flo CAT to a OBD-II?

I thought that if an inspector sees the headers he would automatically fail you. Is that true?

My dad's best friend is a mechanic and he does the smog for us all the time so I don't think he will fail me.

high flow cat will probably not pass the sniffer and in fact might make your check engine light come on due to the fact that the ecu is thinking the cat is bad.

The only way to know though is to test it and see. Technically the headers themselves are illegal since they do not carry a CARB number so for most of us, that would be the first hurdle to get over.
