SS FTC tips?

SS FTC tips?

Postby xtychx » Tue Jul 06, 2004 2:51 pm

ey guys,

Just installed the URD kit a few days ago with the injectors, fuel pump, etc. The SS FTC is a pretty cool unit for a piggyback, but I was hoping to get a couple tips for our SC setups so I can do some basic tuning until I can buy another wideband (mine got stolen a few weeks ago when somebody broke into my friends car that we were tuning). Basically, I want any overall tips on doing the adjustments as well as any specifics. The fuel map that comes preprogrammed in the unit seems to be running a bit rich at all RPM's so it would be nice to switch it up a bit. Just so you know, heres the rundown on my car:

TRD SC @ 5 pounds
3" catback
Injen intake with danny's CAI extension
320CC bosch fuel injectors
190lph Walbro fuel pump
Denso IK22 sparks
NGK wires

So, any help? Im looking to you Joe B or you Ericsol :)

pretty sure they took it to a local pro-tuner shop so they can configure/tune if my memory serves me right.

Congrats. Try calling Gadget he may know some things. He told me he knows shops out in Cali, but I don't know about anyplace else.

Thanks, but does anyone know Gadgets number? Its not on the URD website. I don't need another shop to tune it for me, but I need an idea of where the baseline fuel map is situated so I can do some slight tuning until I purchase another wideband in a couple weeks.

xtychx, I'll be happy to help in any way I can. That fuel map was from when Gadget first tuned my car. I recently redid the map, it was running a bit rich all over but especially on the high end. PM me with your email address and I'll send you a map or 2. If you send me your phone number, I'll call you and explain further. In a nutshell, I am currently running 9.0 as a base number and dropping down to 8.7 at 5,500RPM/6PSI. I am also experimenting with the timing map.

The tune that Gadget did originally was great, I've done a lot of changes since then. -JoeB
