Hey Bro rizal... Is it possible you can PM me info on how you kept your Checklight off (if you did since I cant tell) when you had the intake and catback on your car? Because I notice the 02 sensor kept pulling a CEL on not being able to pick up the faster flowing signal... Thanks bro and whats the update on the car? Make a new vid soon so I can pop it into my Compilation 3 and show texas a turbo solara exist :)

I live in B-More now, and I know very little about all the wonderful things people can do to and with our Solaras. Think I might be able to come down to where you are (in Alexandria, right?) and just chill around the shop, maybe learn something from you? I mean, if I could do that without getting in the way. I'd be like a little-brother type thing.

Or, in fact, anybody else in the MD-VA area who wants to show me some ropes!

Sure! I duno about learning things from me though! I'm still learning a lot about our car. There is lots of info out there on the internet you just gotta choose which would best fit your needs. The best thing to do is mimic the work of people who have paved the way for us. Brad Bedell (1mz-fe in an MR2) , JoeB (NOS and s/c'd 1mz), and Tony the Tiger (1st ever 1mz-fe turbo). Finding the right shop to do the job is important too. Arrieta Motorsport have already worked on 3 Heavily modified Solaras. "I love what they do for me."

Rizal,

Just saw the coated exhaust and it looks great. All the intercooler hoses are in place (looking good) and Jr is taking measurements for your radiator fan setup. Belen will be calling you shortly. Suprised you haven't posted pics from yesterday.

Jr is doing your electronics now. Think he has it under control. Of course I'd help him. I'm an expert at pulling wires and hoses through the firewall when Jr feeds them to me from the otherside. Anything more than that, I'm lost.

BTW, that bio link and its hairdo is ancient old. An updated racing bio is at

Anyway, not to further threadjack, Gorka, Belen & I are leaving shortly for MIR. Have free guest passes for the Jetcar Wars and motorcycle stunt show thru work.

My last post was not Rizal vs. JoeB. It was Rizal & JoeB. Much better.

Good news! JoeB and Carlos got the car started with the Greddy Emanage Ultimate this past weekend. Today Carlos relocated the Supra TT MAF sensor to the inlet of the turbo and we noticed a significant difference! The scary thing is the car pulls MUCH stronger than it did with 13psi on the TRD s/c. We only have boost set to 9psi and still untuned! We're very excited and look to set a dyno appointment next week. We still have one trouble code "air intake temp. sensor malfunction" but it doesn't seem to affect the performance of the car in our test drives. We're still working on clearing that code. More updates by the end of the weekend.

A very excited.....

Well this has been an up and down roller coaster ride!

The car was running but could not dyno tune. The Greddy emanage ultimate did not deliver as stated in their nationwide ads. From 3k rpm and below we can adjust air/fuel but at WOT above 3k rpm couldn't adjust anything. Greddy claims you can adjust timing but.... nope can't do that either. This product is so new that I've heard other tuners are having similar problems with this unit.

The 5 month (3 months mechanical and 2 months sitting around for Greddy to help me with wiring and tuning issues) wait is killing me and I've decided to go with the Electromotive tec3 stand alone system. I'll have my Supra TT MAF sensor up for sale soon because I'll be using a GM 3 bar MAP sensor for the tec3.

I'd like to thank fellow Arrieta Motorsport teammate and friend Joe Bailer for his relentless effort in trying to get this Greddy emanage ultimate to work for my car. I feel so bad that this ended up being the end result with the Greddy unit.

I should be getting the tec3 by thursday or friday next week and Electromotive says it takes a weekend to wire up and install their unit. We're gunning for "tabasco" to run by the last race of the season come November 6 at Maryland International Raceway.
:x
