Here we go, from wikipedia.com

The third-generation Camry (first sold in 1990 in Japan; in the US as a 1992 model year car) is regarded as the first to break into the large-car market, or what Toyota billed at the time as "world-sized". This model marked the transition away from an inexpensive four door vehicle into a larger, more luxurious family sedan.

However, in Japan, the 1992 Camry was a different vehicle, which shared its doors and fenders with the exported model, but was limited to the 1700 mm (66.9 in) width required to fit into a lower tax bracket (the 'number 5' bracket). The wider export model was called the Toyota Scepter in its home market.

Japan's Camry = slightly smaller than Scepter. US Camry = Rest of the world's Scepter

Yeah, I was undecided on what color scheme to go with... I think I pretty much have my mind made up to go with Jaguar Racing Green for the color. Also, I want to go over the carbon fiber with a thin layer so that it looks like its all one color, but if you look closer or the light hits it, you can see the weave through the paint. The wheels Im getting are going to be custom black Volks with the lettering done in gold, and my new brake calipers are all going to be gold...

^^Tight! i can notice your door looks a shade different than the rest of the car. that color is very hard to match. did you have an accident at one point?

So then we now see that the name-plate isn't limited to its motherland. Good find! Now check on the Camry Gracia =P

Hey nice rides! I didint know the scepter name stuck with the gen3 in japan. Do they sill call camrys in japan scepters? My old roomate has a gen2 scepter. His grandma was a big toyota person and she had it shipped over to the states from japan. She gave it to him when he was 16. It came with a sc engine. He blew it up though. So now its got a mr2 engine in it. I think he got hosed though cause after she gave him that car she bought TTSupra in red and then gave it to his cousin when he totaled his rx7.

Looks so sick; wit the Scepter.
Likin' it.
Can't till the new paint color.
Not likin' the fron bumper of the Scepter though.
It hangs too low than the whole car.
But over all looks good.

the good thing about painting it a darker color is that it wont make it as obvious that the front bumper is lower

Bodykit

Postby JMSinMaryland » Thu Sep 08, 2005 4:44 am

I was just thinking about the bodykit, are there no decent ones to tie up the look of the car? Also, not that my opinion matter but I LOVE 93-98 Toyota Supra Royal Sapphire Pearl. Jon.

Nah, I just steal other people's and sell theirs. If you ever wake up in a shady motel room in a bathtub full of ice and your side hurts like hell, you'll know that you have in some way contributed to modding my car. Muahahahaha!

No not at all... All that's out there is the played out black widow and some other crap VIS kit. Either way, theyll both have to be modified a lot to fit a coupe. So basically whatever it is, it has to be custom, and i just dont feel that its worth it. It wont provide me any benefit other than looks, so thats the reason for no kit.

Yeah, no blue colors for me either. Of all the tuned gen 3 Camrys Ive seen, blue is the most prevalent color. Gotta be different.

I love your front bumper too, compared to my played out black widow...lol. But, for me the other kits for the Solara suck azz IMO. I wish I never invested so much on the kit, should've stuck strictly with the motor...But I like the way you've got it setup now and don't paint it blue, I really think the gold with black or some other dark color is the way to go!!!

Im definitely sticking to the green with black wheels and gold accents. My valve cover has been sitting at the powdercoater's place forever waiting on me to decide what color to go with... Going Brembo gold, to match my soon to be bought (when I have the money) Brembo brakes. :D

See ya tomorrow Larry haha
