Wow those are some high miles.

None the less if I hear form insurance that my car will be totaled I'll be making the 50 minute drive to pompano Saturday to check this out.

I'd absolutely hate to take on a car with this high of mileage, but it is a Solara which means it's Toyota which means it will last and it's factory TRD.

Ahhhh, but I dread the thought of high mileage maintenance, and have always thought it would be crazy to buy a car for much money at all over 100k m. :drinking:

We'll see.

can you replace a low mileage 1mfze with a higher mileage 1mfze and not have to worry about anything else? the reason im asking....is because domino could potenitally take out the engine of his wrecked car and switch it with this new car. iono..random thought. but it could happen...

I wouldn't necessarily even need mine. I could buy one relatively cheap. The transmission worries me more than the engine. I have no doubts the engine would surpass 200k like a champ, but the tranny is another issue.

This will be all very difficult to work out as I still don't know what insurance is going to say about my car (I was supposed to know yesterday) and there's going to be a hurricane coming in soon, and I doubt if I could even get an opportunity this weekend to go look at the car. I would be hardpressed to buy and ebay car with those miles without driving it. Under 50k yeah I'll put my money down, but not like that.

I'd probably get a repaint to black. And I kind've like the way my retrofitted 1.5 valences fit better. Maybe it would look different black, but I'd probably end up swapping kits and selling the gen 1 kit, and selling those rims. The good thing about that is I know I'd have buyers . Another nice thing is that I'd have the dark interior. Then a few years down the road when that car is going downhill I'd buy a new 1mz and build it, swap a manual transmission in, and boost it. Not a bad plan, but I don't even know if I'll have that kind of money by then. On the upside, if my car is totaled I won't end up with a lot of money and that car looks liek ti would be my best value for what I'll end up getting. I'm calling the insurance agent handling my case tomorrow to see what's up. Of course best case, my car gets fixed, but I think that's a good backup plan, no?

If it wasn't for the mileage I'd take it in a heartbeat... Tan leather shows every abberation there is (esp. the steering wheel) and I'm too broke to trick out my car.
