When they first introduced them for our application there was a lot of controversy on whether or not they did anything. The overall consensus was:
1. More for looks than anything else
2. Deliver a reliable spark
3. They don't add horsepower (as sometimes claimed). However, they can help reclaim horsepower if your stock wires are no good
4. Thicker PVC shell which allows them to last better in higher temps
The way I see it, they're more for looks than anything else. If you're trying to dress up your engine bay, go for it. They are not a must have mod, but they do have a lot of benefits.
