It depends on WIDTH and OFFSET and to a lesser extent, the tires.
Without knowing the offset, you wont know if you need spacers or not. Spacers have the same affect as decreasing offset. Offset is where the wheels hub sits in relation to the rest of the wheel. 0 offset means the hub sits right in the center, positive offset is for hubs that sit away from the wheel, like most passenger cars, and negative offset is for hubs that sit closer to the axle (You will see this on many trucks..18 wheels usually use a mix of positive and negative offset wheels, youll see one looks normal, and one looks "deep dished").
Offset is usually printed on the wheel on the back side of the rim along with the diameter and width.
To not rub, you need to keep the wheel between the strut and the fender egde. The fatter the wheel, the less room you have to play with. Front is usually no issue for us, its the back that has rubbing problems.
a 7.5" at +40 to maybe +35 offset should be good. 7" has 3 more mm on either side, so you can go from about +43 to +32 without rubbing. for an 8" rim, you need to stick to almost exactly +38 for perfect fitment
50 profile is way too much for 18" rims btw....stick to 40-45 profile. Most popular is 225/40/18.
