Have chrome Revos's on car now (second set due to bending) :x . Really like how they look, basic, clean, but they do not last on NYC roads.

I keep reading posts on suggestions to buy Forged. But what brands other that Ray's(Volk, G-Grams) and BBS make forged wheels. I have seen a few others, but have a hard time getting them in 17"x7" +40 which is all I think I want to avoid more future bends. Also these wheels are crazy expensive. I wish I can find a nice forged wheel in the $250-$300 range.

If not forged wheels, what about SSR/SSF (semi-solid forged) or Enkei's/MAT (Most advanced Technologies) processes. Any opinions on these for durability. They seem to be expensive as well though.

I have found a potential rim and wanted some feedback on how they thought it would look on a DWP car and perform. They are a light grey with white lettering, not sure how they would look on a DWP colored car.

They aren't forged, but it is i think high speed cast, sounds better than plan old cast. WedsSport TC005. Please let me know what you guys think and maybe offer other suggestons, remember 17"x7" +40 only. I want to avoid rim bending and steering wheel dancing, and want to be a little affordable too since the car has 85k miles on it and would't want to spend $2300 on rims now. Maybe I should have thought of this 50k miles ago.

Pic of car with chrome Revos. Wish they were still available and stronger. :)

bump... i cant think of any forged wheels that aren't $$$. I guess you get what you pay for. I always found that it kinda balances out, even if you have to repair alloy wheels its still usually cheaper than forged.

That is sooooooo true.

Get forged. You'll be happier in the long run. They are generally lighter and stronger than any other manufacturing process. All kinds of pros. The only con is the cost.
If you have lots and lots of cash, I recommend these:

My to my taste, OZ makes a forged wheel.

RichD, do you have any wobble in your steering head with them? Approx. how many miles on them. Just curious, they are a little darker than what I was going for. How much. You can PM me if you wish.

Also what model and size/offset are they. Thanx

This is a nice rim, but I guess what I didn't mention is that I was looking for a monoblock forged design. Also this rim isn't offered in 17".

I looked at the Ultraleggera (similar rim, offered in 17") but I think that it is a cast wheel. Most likely not as strong as the Superleggeras.

Which SSR's do you have, I can't seem to find any that would fit my requirements. I want 17"x7" +40. The Comp-H's or Competitions look nice, but per Tire Rack, they do not come in that size.

Was doing more research, how about Enkei RPM2 wheels. They look similar to what is on the Pace Car below in my footer.

Image

These are not made with the MAT process, but with an SC, TS and Cast Process, and are heat treated per the Enkei homepage.

They come in 17"x7" and +38 offset, probably not to different from +40. They are also only $215 ea.

Anyone ever use heat-treated cast wheels by enkei.

Thoughts?

If you want cheap forged, believe it or not, Motegi racing makes some forged rims. The Traklite and Traklite 2's are 1 peice forged and can be had for less than $300 ea. They also make them in 17x7. The traklites are made for Solara fitment, but not sure if they make the Traklite 2 in Solara fitment. I know the TL2's are made for Civic fitment, but if they make make it in 5x114 as well, it would just be about finding the right spacer for the offset.

Traklites are available from Tirerack for $280 ea. Each 17x7 weighs 14.3lbs. The traklite 2.0s, available in 17x8, weigh in at 14.5lbs.

I did see the TrakLite and 2.0's, but the tirerack doesn't have the required offset in stock anymore. My luck I guess. Thanx
