Bringing this back, Gabe, since the block is the same.... Are you using the same motor mounts? And did the block mate to the tranny without any problems?

Sorry for my ignorance but do the 3MZ block has the same size as the 1MZ ?? I know the internals are not the same, the reason why one is 3.0L and the other 3.3L, but what about the block itself ??

The 1MZ-FE is a 3.0 L (2994 cc) engine. Bore is 87.5 mm and stroke is 83 mm. The 3MZ-FE is a 3.3 L (3310 cc) version . Bore is 92 mm and stroke is 83 mm.

well, not if he used the 1mzfe heads.. then it wouldn't have the VVT-i since the cams are from the 1mzfe... If I understand this correctly

Ok like I first thought (nevermind my post)...but even if the stroke * bore is bigger 3.3L versus 3.0L can the block has the same size....I assume not, would add some stupid extra weight...but to match other engine parts (like the cams) the size does matters, isn't it ?

All MZ engines fit the E153, so your answer is yes.

swap

Postby trd4life » Sun Apr 08, 2007 11:24 am

Yes i'm using the 1mz heads and 1mz auto trans. Every 1mz component bolts up perfect, Except the 3mz block doesnt have the egr cooler built in on the back. Also there are two vvt-i oil passages in the block that have to be plugged in order to run the 1mz heads.
