Gen 1 Solara Retro-Update 6000k Bulbs added 2.12

Postby Mr_Chunkz » Tue Dec 11, 2007 9:05 pm

Got my 6000k bulbs in!!
Heres some pix
Gonna take solid pix.. perhaps a lil mini shoot in my neighborhood tomorrow night.... even tho my camera sucks monkeybutt..

Image
4300k Vs 6000k Side by side comparison. Now that I look at it 4300k looks really AMBER compared with 6000k

Image
Beam comparison. In the 6000k Pic i was much closer to my garage door. The 6000k also makes the color mod on the cutoff more apparant

Image
Close up of bulb
pretty much pure freakin white.

I finally got a little better quality pictures trying to use a tripod. My camera just SUCKS. I also took pix of the lights with them off for my buddy CamryOnBronze
Also there are 2 videos as a representation of what it looks like when I'm rolling....

VIDEO UPDATES ( 02.02.08 )

Video One - Camera attatched to tripod, strapped into passenger seat. Sorry for shaky video ( I guess tripods arent good in moving cars )
Headlights and foglights on in this video....

Video Two - Camera at the top of my driveway, with me doing a three point turn ( dumb tight Cul De Sac ) and coming back around. Camera blurs from the 8000k 50W Foglights ( didnt realize how bright they were )
First off, yes I am wearing a shirt and tie. I had just gotten off work
Secondly yes I did hit a small bump at the mouth of the Cul De Sac, it was to show you guys the shine from fog ( blue ) switch to a direct hit from projector ( white )

I noticed one thing about my cutoff. It slants down slightly on the left and up slightly on the right even though i line up the points of focus ( brightest points in beam ). I was told its cause left side is down to avoid glare in oncoming traffic and right side is up to help illuminate road signs. Is that true?

yea they made me a custom ABS bezel to make it nice and tidy
ive seen their work
and one of the guys working on my lights is on the this forum, hes the one that did the retro to the camry
If that camry's headlight's beam pattern is any example of what I can expect... itll be a dream come true.

And yes we definately need to work on gettin some clear lenses cut for our foglights
I know it seems redunant to tint custom clear foglight lenses, but the output would be a much cripser blue for me. Im experiencing some bad bubbling and fogginess and thats driving me NUTS

did u get TSX projectors? or S2000 ?? or FX??
those would have the sharpest cutoffs, also if color-modded, the BLUEST...

good choice ! (retrofit over hid kit), the output difference is literally night and day...

and he did such a clean job!

Dammit, every time I get HID's out of my head a thread comes along like this. Back to spending money...

The retro looks very nice. Definitely get some pics posted once you get everything installed!
