On the Lexus, the tailpipe from the muffler just floats inside the inlet of the tip. The exhaust system actually doesn't touch the flush mounted tip. So it's real easy to to get it to work. I've been to the company in Japan that designed and manufactures that exhaust. (Too bad I can't get the tips.)

Hey Brian (PhreakedOut); Off of the top of my head, I can think of more than one "hard part".
- Squeezing in a true dual exhaust system. (I know its been done, but it is rare)
- Getting the tips like you mentioned
- Custom body work to enlarge the rear bumper to allow flush mounted exhaust and pray that it still looks good.

I know of a local performance exhaust shop that can work some magic with some custom installations. Maybe they might have some insight on the tips or maybe they can fabricate something similar.
Then, to find a body shop that will design, manufacture and install such a unique rear bumper. I see that it looks good on the Lexus, but it may not look kosher on a Solara.

Maybe when I get all of my bills paid and I have a couple spare thousand bucks, I can finally get a custom widebody like i20solara02i and get this exhaust as well.

AND: they call it a Solara, not a Camry, or Camry coupe or whatever. I see plenty of 2 door Accords out there so there must be a market. Of course being able to get a 6 speed in the accord can't hurt too much either.

I will have to agree with you on the Gen 2. I think the latest Lexus SC is one of the ugliest cars out there. Therefore since the Gen 2 has an a$$ of the SC it ruins the car. I do like the front half of it.

For the record it is called a Camry. It just has Solara tacked on to the end of its name. LOL funny story - last time I got pulled over for speeding the cop thought I had a false registration since it states the model as Camry S. It cut off the rest of the letters because there wasnt enough room in the space provided. So I had to pull out the owners manual to show him the cover where it says Camry Solara because he didnt believe me. But that would be nice if they would sell that car pictured as long as it doesnt have the buck tooth grill on it.

QuickSEV6: I'd leave it as it is...for the amount of money that will go into ensuring the fit and finish will look classy (and that its not buring your bumper), i'd dump that exta $$ aside for some other projects....possbl yaris projects??

Not a chance. The only thing I'm doing to the Yaris is putting gas in it and getting the oil changed. I am not going to sink one extra penny into it. It is just a work commuter.
The Solara, on the other hand, is my true love. It will get all of my financial attention as soon as funds are available.
While I work on the Solara, I'll always have the Yaris as a reliable commuter car. If I were to do an exhaust upgrade, I wouldn't be for at least another year. I have too many other things that demand my attention first. I'm not in any hurry. It may be a slow process, but its a process I'll enjoy and take a lot of pride in.
