Problem with VIP RS3000 Security System

What happens to your alarm when the trunk is opened and the VIP is on?
What should I do?

solara_man2000 wrote::roll: Ok. Does opening the trunk activate the alarm system because mine doesn't? On page 4 of the Owner's Guide it says opening the trunk triggers the alarm. On page 7 it says the RS3000 will trigger when "opening the vehicle's trunk", etc...

Obviously the alarm will go off when the trunk is opened and the alarm is activated.
What should you do? Simple...disarm the system...then open the trunk. Ever think of that?

on my car opening the trunk with the remote will not set off the alarm. it tempoparily disables it (as indicated by the steady red light on the dash) then rearms when the trunk has been closed.
solara_man2000 wrote:That's the problem.According to the User's Guide, it states that Step 2 above should trigger the alarm as would opening the door with your key.
So my guess is that the alarm was NOT properly installed on my Solara.
