no name alarm brands are okay. they will just crap out. but THEY WILL NOT SCREW UP THE ENGINE. you could take a high premium DEI manufactured alarm and things could go wrong, but in the worse case, it won't mess up your engine. it all depends on
who installs the product, too.
ANY alarm has a starter kill output, but it has nothing to do with the engine, fuel line, or the starter itself. many people think it does, but that is not the case.
the starter kill input interfaces with a relay that is wired in-line with the starter WIRE. the starter wire (located in the ignition harness) is cut in half and a relay is wired between the connections. normally, this is one of the few installation procedures which the technician MUST cut a wire in half.
if the installer is saying that it will "screw up your engine" he's only bullshitting you into buying one of his crappy alarms. go with a DEI product such as Viper, Clifford, or Sidewinder.
