Kaye Linn wrote:hehehe you guys are pretty harsh but here is my guess as to why hes asking. im pretty sure all of us know about the bullish racing solaras. they use 2jz-gte motors and run 6's all day long.

Bullish are not even solara's. They are tube frames with a fiberglass body like the solara.

i hope this answers the question and before it ever gets asked again, :drinking: USE THE FAWKIN SEARCH BUTTON!!!!!!!!

The cost isnt as bad as you think. Around 30K to get the car itself running. The trick is building the car up. You cannot just drop it in, you have to remove everything inside, cut the middle of the car out to make room and then weld in all new metal to hold up the tranny to the frame. Then you have to relocate the fuel tank into the trunk and rebuild the towers in the rear. Once I get a car to work with I hope to have this conversion done in just over a year. As far as potential, solara's are lighter than a supra is. Curb weight is less :) It's also fun to just do something no one else has. Again the streetglow/bullish are not solaras, so they don't count.

yeah i realize they arent solaras. i know they are tube frame purpose built racecars.

reason i put that there is because the guy was asking about a 2jz in a solara. Most probable reason for him asking it ARE THOSE CARS!!! along with the new one.

geeze 3 solaras (well they call them that but they are supras) running this year for the 6's and maybe 5's

Yeah, solara's are catching on for dragracing. Alot of people seem to like the aerodynamics of them. I hope to pull down into the high 9's with mine once done. Though it's all about time. The conversion will be a major chore.

haha, nah that movie was all about bling and nothing else. When I am done with mine, you shouldn't be able to tell from the outside its not a normal solara. Interior will be a lil off cause we are going to remove the rear seats. Oh well.
