That's pretty decent. I got the same combination from shox.com. If I remember correctly, I was quoted $219 for the Eibach springs and $399 for the Tokico struts. Those don't include tax and shipping charges.

By the way, I love this combination on my Solara. I thought my car's suspension was way too soft with the stock set-up. It eliminated a lot of the body roll and made my car much more stable on the freeway and around corners. In addition, it eliminated a lot of the squatting and diving while braking or accelerating. I don't feel it compromised the ride quality much, either. You can feel the bumps a bit more than before, but given the better handling, it's well worth it.

All I can tell you is that when I bought mine, I had to give them the specs of what I wanted. I think they have an order page, on which you tell them what kind of car you have and what brands of shocks or springs than you want. They e-mail you a price quote, with a quote number. If you want to buy, you just submit an order using the quote number as a reference. If you're having a problem, they have an 800 number. Just tell them that you know of other people who have ordered Tokico struts for a Solara from their website. Good luck.

I thought Eibach makes shocks too. Why do people by Tokico's? is it alot better?

I just bought the Tokico struts and Ebiach pro-kit for my solara, getting them installed in a couple weeks, can't wait.
My question is I am thinking of buying 18'' rims to have on my car during the summer, and put the factory 16'' back on in the winter. Do I have to get my alignment done every time I change the wheels ? If anyone can help that would be great.
Plus I was told once I have the springs and struts added to drive 500 miles and get the alignment checked, hopefully I won't have to have any camber adjustment, if I do anyone know what camber adjustment kit to get for the solara ?

This is in response to Esculatus' question about Eibach shocks. Yes, they do make shocks, but if you check their website, you'll see that they don't have one specifically for a Solara. At any rate, they are more renowned for their springs. The Tokicos just seem to be a pretty good match for the Eibach shocks on a Solara. TRD matches the Eibach springs to Bilstein shocks when they put the package together. The Bilsteins are great, but they are a bit firmer than the Tokicos, which has an impact on the ride quality. This all a matter of preference, though. The Bilsteins are also a lot more expensive.

Hey DC, getting an alignment done when you change your tires between seasons is NOT a requirement, however, it's not a bad idea. I personally get my alignment checked twice a year just for maintenance purposes. When you are shelling out big $ for tires, you don't wanna' hafta' replace them due to improper wear, and after all, an alignment is relatively cheap. As for part 2 of your question, there is no such thing as a camber adjustment kit. An alignment shop sets your camber through adjustments of your suspension and by shimming when neccessary.

Wrong

Postby JMSinMaryland » Thu Feb 13, 2003 10:58 pm

There is a camber adjustment kit, front and rear for $50 from Shox.com. I added it to have a bit more flexibility in tuning when aligning. I switch from 18's to 16s (for winter) and just get rotated and balanced when I put them on. (i.e. when 16s come off Ill wait until next time i put them on for R&B). I get aligned every 12,000. Simple as that. Jon.

They're $100 a piece. Try wholehyper.com They have them there for around $93 a piece. I just bought mine from shox.com and they did a price match and even went a little lower. I also got the eibach pros from them as well with a price match from adventon.com I believe I paid $185 for the springs.
